Tungsten Carbide Spoon Button
Description
The tungsten carbide spoon button is a new type of button which was introduced in the US in the 1980s. it is a kind of asymmetric wedged button of which the cutting operation surface is in a concave spoon shape, and the back is in a slightly convex arc shape. This structure improves the stress state of the button and increase the breaking efficiency and strength. Therefore, the breaking of the extremely soft and medium soft stratum is of high efficiency.
The newly-developed topped spoon tungsten carbide button and conical spoon button based on the spoon button have been successfully applied to the cone bit of welding button types. The button top of topped spoon tungsten carbide button is ahead of its axis by a distance. The convex part faces the cut stratum which can improve the distribution of stress on the stress surface, increase the breaking efficiency and lifetime. This button shape has been widely used in cone bit.
Application
Conical spoon button has been produced based on the chisel button of which the cutting operation surface is a concave, and the back is in a slightly convex arc shape. if the angle of button top is bigger, it can be applied to the harder stratum. In recent years, the performance of fine button shape is more and more favorable for the public. Medium cone button with the cone angle (60-70 degrees) is used in the drilling of the hard stratum, such as limestone, dolomite, sand stone and so on. The 90 degrees cone angle and 120 degrees double conical button are applied to the drilling of rock with high abrasiveness, such as gray wacke, quartzite, flint and so on.
The drilling speed of the spoon button is higher than that of like product. The series of button bits have high wear resistance and long service life. The lifetime of unground bit is 5 or 6 times as long as that of grinded bit in the same diameter. It is good for saving nonproductive time, reducing labor cost and improving the working efficiency. Besides, the spoon button can be applied to the bit of heavy diggers during the mining and the cutting.
